Friendly Match: TCC vs FAP

TCC and FAP met at Dover Court on 29 August for a sprawling 16-game friendly across Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles — and it couldn't have finished any tighter, splitting the tie 8 games apiece.

Men's Doubles was where TCC made its stand, taking 5 of 7 rubbers. Jing Hao/Zi-Jun opened with the most one-sided scoreline of the night, a 21–11 win over Alex/Avapi, while Ba/James, Sim/Dom, and Tom/Michael all ground out tighter wins to keep the home side ahead. FAP's replies came from Alex Medel/Jerome and Avapi/Allan Noel, both closing out reshuffled-partner rematches 21–16 and 21–17.

Women's Doubles belonged to FAP, sweeping 2 of 3 — Terry/Cathy and Krizha/Jane both got the job done, the latter surviving a 21–20 nail-biter. TCC's lone bright spot was Guat Sia/Pang, cruising 21–8 over Avie/Richelle for the biggest margin of the entire tie.

Mixed Doubles tipped the balance FAP's way, 4 wins to 2, with Majid/Jane, Cris/Avie, Ryan/Cathy, and Alner/Terry all finding their range. Michael/June and James/Pang held the fort for TCC.

A genuinely even contest between the two clubs, decided by nothing more than a coin toss's worth of margin — full scores are up on the schedule page.

Meet the Team: Silver Picklers

Posted 29 August 2026

Season 1 hasn't kicked off yet, and this squad is already training together.

Long before the first whistle of Season 1, one squad is already treating this like game day. The Silver Picklers — 22 players deep — have been training together, building a bench, and putting a name to the team they'll bring to the round robin.

“Rooted in friendship, growing stronger with every game” is how they describe it, and the roster backs that up: from Meow and Vinlly through veterans like Lau, Alfred, and Helen, the squad spans every corner of the community it's drawing from.

If this is the appetite one team is showing before Season 1 has even started, imagine what eight will look like on court.

Friendly Match: TCC vs Nanyang CC

Nanyang CC

TCC made the trip to Nanyang CC on 20 August for a warmly contested 14-game friendly across Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles — and left on the losing end, dropping the tie 11 games to 3 on home turf for the hosts.

Nanyang's women's pairs were the story of the day, sweeping all three Women's Doubles rubbers clean, with Guat Sia/July closing out a commanding 21–9 win. Their depth carried through Men's Doubles too, winning four of five games there.

TCC's bright spots came in the tighter exchanges: Clement/Fish held firm for a solid 21–15 win in MD, and the mixed pairs produced the two closest finishes of the day — Nick/Erina edged out a 21–20 nail-biter, and last-man-in pairing Fish/Esther (partnered on the day after being unconfirmed at the sheet's printing) sealed a gritty 21–19 win.

A great display of friendly competitive spirit between the two clubs — full scores are up on the schedule page. Next up: TCC hosts FAP on 29 August at Dover Court.
